FAQ's
Q: Where are you going and for how long?
A: Ireland; 3 months.
Q: But where will you stay?
A. Host families....which we found...online.
Q: Are you 100% certain that they are, in fact, real people?
Q: Are you 100% certain that they are, in fact, real people?
A: No.
Q: And you're staying with them anyway?
A: An enthusiastic yes
Q: Is this trip in any way related to school?
A: An enthusiastic no
Q: What will you do during your stay?
A: Eating, traveling, volunteering, eating, exploring, eating. Whatever we do, we want to make sure that we are experiencing the "real" pieces of Ireland (pub life, live music, etc.). Our primary goal is spontaneity...besides our housing, nothing else is planned (To which I give an loud "Holla!" and Sarah gives a hearty "Yeah buddy!")
To give you a better sense of where exactly we will be staying, we would like to direct your attention to the map below.

We will be staying in three different areas:
1. Galway (West coast)
2. Dublin (East coast)
2. Antrim (which is very close to Belfast and actually part of Northern Ireland...part of the UK.)
So, on September 10, 2012 we will be flying from Dulles to Boston and from Boston to Dublin. From there we will take a bus to Galway- our first destination.
Lastly, in the spirit of EMU we would like to end with a list of Hugs & Slugs.
A hug to the internet: we planned 90% of our trip using Google
A slug to travel agencies: for being so darn expensive- but planning on our own was fun too.
A hug to our parents: for their advice, encouragement, and willingness to support this somewhat risky adventure into the beyond.
A slug to the exchange rate. Boo
A hug to summer jobs: for making this trip a reality
Thanks to you all for caring about this trip enough to ask questions...frequently, give us your many words of encouragement and read this bloggity blog. Check back in a few weeks for a new post and hopefully some pictures
